40 Years of Service

Fortville Optimist Club Turns 40!

The Fortville Optimist Club is proud to celebrate 40 years of community service to the Fortville area. The club was chartered on January 13, 1968 based on the motto "Friend of the boy". Over the years the motto has changed to "Friend of Youth", but the service by all the dedicated volunteers has not changed.

We give a big thank you to all those founding visionaries that formed this club back in 1968. The charter officers and board members were:

Ron Seals                   President

Don Ridenour             Vice-President

John Powell                Secretary-Treasurer

George Hendrix         Board Member

Hal Rhynearson         Board Member

Gale Schreiber           Board Member

Tom Shupperd            Board Member

We give a big heart felt thank you to three gentlemen that were part of the original charter membership and are still active members in the club today:

Dick Collins

Bob Darrah

Ron Seals

Continue to watch for special celebration activities throughout this year and we look forward to seeing you at one of our next sponsored events.
